meet Karina

  • There’s a lot of employers out there... What made you choose us?
  • I love cycling and I have great experience as a merchandiser, but the fact that the company features in the top 25 companies to work for was the driving force behind my application.

  • Tell us a bit about your role…
  • My main accountabilities are ensuring we maximise sales by managing the stock we take into the business to service our customers, both in store and online, for cycling accessories and bikes. I work closely with the buying function, marketing and our digital team.

  • What do you get up to on a typical day?
  • My main accountabilities are reviewing orders and forecasting future demand of what stock needs to be bought into the business. I review reports monitoring daily sales performance to ensure our warehouse and stores don’t go out of stock of all cycling accessories. I work in a fast paced environment which is varied - answering telephone queries from stores and suppliers to resolve stock queries, liaising with colleagues, and the odd meeting or two.

  • What’s the best thing about working here?
  • The head office is a great place: working together with 25 colleagues, we don’t go through a day without having fun and lots of laugher. I also get a real sense of achievement watching the sales come in.

  • What challenges have you faced and how did you deal with them?
  • Every day I’m faced with challenges such as stores chasing deliveries or having not enough/too much stock. My role is about juggling a balance of this, but I always keep the customer at the heart of everything I do and strive to resolve queries in a calm, quick, and efficient manner.

  • Tell us about the training and development...
  • I had great support from my colleagues with hands on experience using the system. I was also astounded after joining the company with the wealth of training opportunities and workshops that are available to suit everyone’s individual needs.

  • What's been your biggest achievement?
  • The successful roll out of our new store/growth program.

  • What do you think makes someone successful at Cycle Republic?
  • Individuals need to be very flexible, with a positive, can-do attitude, which is really important. We’re perfect for individuals who thrive working in a team, and are willing to pull together to support their colleagues in order to get a job done.

  • And, to anyone thinking about applying, what would you tell them?
  • Come and join the team - it’s a rapidly evolving and exciting place to work where there is never a dull moment. There are always new adventures around the corner.
