  • There’s a lot of employers out there... What made you choose us?
  • I had the opportunity to join the CR team in the support centre when the website was just evolving from the early design stages. During this time, I supported the wider CR team in developing the website build whilst reviewing it from a digital marketing perspective as well as creating a new digital team. It was a great decision to make.

  • Tell us a bit about your role…
  • My role is to drive traffic to the website to return sales in line with our targets. My team and I look after our digital channels including PPC/PLA, SEO and eCRM, as well as editorial copy for the website and photography for Cycle Republic as a whole.

    I work closely with the digital trading team to make sure that our digital marketing is in line with current promotions, price changes, and industry trends.

  • What do you get up to on a typical day?
  • Every day is mixed, but it usually starts with checking the previous day’s performance against weekly sales targets and using this information to make decisions about whether we need to make any changes to our current marketing. After that, it’s a mix of checking email proofs, revising ad copy, reviewing forecasts against results, reporting on the performance of our channels, a couple of meetings, looking at new products, and working with the team to determine what to photograph. It’s a mixed job, but that’s what I love most about it.

  • What’s the best thing about working here?
  • The team - I know it’s a cliché, but it’s true. We all get on so well. Yes, we work hard, but we have a laugh at the same time and that makes work enjoyable. We spend the majority of our week at work, so the team is really important and I’m really lucky to work with who I do.

  • What challenges have you faced and how did you deal with them?
  • There have been quite a few, but my usual challenge is getting the right email out to our customers at the right time with the right content. Ensuring that our emails are a mix of both products and engaging content is vital to keeping our customers interested. From our own analyses, we know our customers like content, scrolling to the bottom of an email to find our blog piece. However, as any marketing team will know, you’re targeted on sales! It’s important to promote our products, but showcasing to the business that editorial content can also help drive engagement and sales has enabled us to use these pieces more and keep our emails engaging.

  • Tell us about the training and development...
  • Having joined the group five years ago I’ve had multiple opportunities to progress my career and the management team has always been there to support me with additional development when needed. The business is very good at looking at internal colleagues for career progression, and that has benefited me throughout my time here.

  • What's been your biggest achievement?
  • Having joined the CR team at the point of the new website design stage, I was able to support the development and progression of the site and ensure what was delivered was customer friendly in line with the original brief. Since launch we’ve progressed further and I love what’s been achieved in such a short period of time.

  • What do you think makes someone successful at Cycle Republic?
  • Be completely open to getting your hands into many different roles. It’s a great place to develop yourself and do different tasks every day.
