  • There’s a lot of employers out there... What made you choose us?
  • I had been watching Cycle Republic for some time and when the opportunity came up to work with the company, I jumped for it. It only made sense to get involved with a new company who specialize in providing bikes from entry level all the way to our premium range.

  • Tell us a bit about your role…
  • My role as customer support advisor involves assisting customers in any way I can, whether that be advice on what bike would be best suitable for them or as a gift, or complex questions about the specification and geometry of the model they are interested in. I can also help by tracking a customer’s orders for delivery and giving advice on our finance offers.

  • What do you get up to on a typical day?
  • Each day I will take calls from our customers regarding their orders, usually for tracking or expected delivery dates, confirmation of their order and delivery details. We get a lot of questions on what size would be best suited for them, as well as specification queries and geometry questions about tube lengths and angles on our premium road bikes. I also arrange for our customers to pop into our stores to ensure we can keep them on the road with our repair service.

  • What’s the best thing about working here?
  • The team atmosphere! We have great fun here. Also each day brings its own challenges; no day is the same as the last.

    I thoroughly enjoy interacting with our customers and finding the best solutions for fellow cyclists.

  • What challenges have you faced and how did you deal with them?
  • There is always a chance a customers product hasn’t quite made it to them in time. This is unavoidable sometimes. Tracking an order and ensuring it getting to our customer safely and promptly is always rewarding, especially around our peak periods, where a lot of our sales are gifts for birthdays and Christmas.

  • Tell us about the training and development...
  • Coming originally from store, I thought I’d have a good grasp of what I was expecting. Starting any new job can seem intimidating at first, however the team here are great, friendly and knowledgeable people. Making me feel right at home and walking me through everything, step by step. Great support for what can seem like a big step in your future.

  • What's been your biggest achievement?
  • One of our customers was very keen on getting hold of one of our Boardman Elite bikes. However, he needed the bike delivering overseas in Guernsey. This is not somewhere we ship to, but after speaking to the gentleman extensively over the course of a few weeks, myself and our team managed to get the customer his much desired bike shipped over to him. To say he was ecstatic would be an understatement.

  • What do you think makes someone successful at Cycle Republic?
  • I believe being passionate about what you do is key to being successful. As long as you love cycling in all aspects, you may not even notice that you’re progressing, purely because you’re working at what you love.

  • And, to anyone thinking about applying, what would you tell them?
